The famous Swiss brand is reintroducing a real piece of watchmaking history by taking us back to that significant year in which it produced one of the world’s first wrist-chronographs. The First Omega Wrist-Chronograph is a vintage-inspired timepiece composed of both new and old parts, including the restored original movements from the past that are now refurbished for this special collection.
Each of the 18 Limited Edition models houses an original 18’’’ CHRO calibre that is 105 years old, found in the vaults at the Omega Museum. The vintage movements have been strikingly restored by the expert hands at OMEGA’s Atelier Tourbillon, using only original machines, so each of the movements is unique.
The First Omega Wrist-Chronograph Limited Edition replica watch is a 15-minute monopusher chronograph with an aviator-style design. It features a highly legible, grand-feu enamel dial with blued steel hands and true vintage logos. The red and black markings on the dial were transferred from an engraved plate onto the dial using a special silicone stamp. The case, crafted from white gold, is 47.5mm wide and equipped with the Sedna gold crown and chronograph pushers. The hunter-style case-back opens to reveal the movement inside.
The watch is mounted on a brown leather strap with white gold rivets. It arrives in a hand-made leather trunk with two additional leather straps in novonappa gold leather and burgundy leather, as well as unique strap-changing tools, loupe and a travel pouch.
